WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Governors Association today thanked the Democratic Governors Association for their decision to keep failed governor Dan Malloy, who just guided Democrats to their worst gubernatorial election losses in 95 years, as their Chairman for 2017.
“As the most unpopular Democrat governor in America with a 24 percent approval rating, under federal investigation for illegal campaign fundraising, and after he just guided Democrats to their worst gubernatorial election losses in 95 years, it’s absolutely fitting that Dan Malloy was chosen to lead the DGA for another year,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “Malloy represents the worst of Democrat governors’ failed policies – job-killing tax increases, burdensome regulations, driving away business and a stubborn unwillingness to listen to the middle class. Just as he was in 2016, Governor Malloy will continue to be a major liability to Democrat gubernatorial candidates everywhere.”
