RGA statement on Whitmer’s events with VP Harris and Rashida Tlaib

Just days after Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib called to “eliminate funding for CBP, ICE, and their parent organization DHS,” Gretchen Whitmer is campaigning with Tlaib and Vice President Harris in Michigan.

Despite a surge in violent crimes and repeated calls by Tlaib to eliminate the police and dismantle agencies that protect Americans, Whitmer has refused to condemn this dangerous rhetoric.

Whitmer has shown a shocking unwillingness to disavow the high-profile congresswoman’s rhetoric.

“Gretchen Whitmer’s refusal to condemn the anti-law enforcement policies of Rashida Tlaib and the far-left is concerning enough, but now Whitmer is actively campaigning with a chief architect of these radical policies,” said RGA Spokesperson Chris Gustafson. “With surging crime fueled in part by this dangerous rhetoric, Whitmer must let Michiganders know if she stands behind Tlaib.”
