WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican Governors Association Executive Director Phil Cox released the following statement regarding tonight’s final Virginia gubernatorial debate:
“Never before has the contrast between Ken Cuccinelli and Terry McAuliffe been as stark as it was in tonight’s debate. While Cuccinelli demonstrated a real vision for creating jobs, improving education and putting Virginia on track for a more prosperous future, Terry McAuliffe once again showed he is ill-prepared and unfit for the Commonwealth’s highest office. Beneath the carefully crafted veneer McAuliffe portrays is a candidate bought and paid for by Big Labor Union Bosses with an increasingly shady past and a plan for Virginia devoid of the most critical details. In just over a week, voters in the Commonwealth will have the opportunity to put their state in the capable hands of a future reformer, and we extend our congratulations to Ken Cuccinelli tonight for proving he is the only candidate prepared to be governor on day one.”
