WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association issued the following statement on the outcome of the Vermont gubernatorial primary election:
“This election is about setting a new course for Vermont, and Scott Milne is just the candidate the state needs to secure a brighter future,” said RGA Chairman Chris Christie. “As governor, Milne would bring to the table the kind of leadership Vermont is desperate for: practical, measured, and focused on results. The Republican Governors Association is proud to support Scott Milne to be Vermont’s next governor.”
“Governor Peter Shumlin has lulled Vermont into a sleepy state of mediocrity,” said RGA Executive Director Phil Cox. “The state can do better than Shumlin’s hyper-progressive approach, and putting a strong Republican leader in the statehouse would allow Vermont to join the ranks of red states growing and flourishing nationwide. Without a doubt, Scott Milne is the right choice in this race for governor.”
