RGA Statement on Tennessee Democratic Primary

Tennessee voters have selected Mike McWherter, who ran unopposed in his primary, as the Democratic nominee for governor of Tennessee.  Republican Governors Association spokesman Tim Murtaugh released the following statement:

“Mike McWherter stands for exactly what ails Tennesseans and the rest of the country.  Voters will see through his masquerade and learn who he truly is:  an Obama ally who embraces growing governmental interference into the everyday lives of law-abiding citizens.  Once people learn Mike McWherter’s true record, they will reject him.”
