Republican Chris Dudley to Take on John Kitzhaber
Oregon voters tonight selected Chris Dudley as the Republican nominee for governor and John Kitzhaber as the Democratic nominee. Tim Murtaugh, spokesman for the Republican Governors Association, today issued the following statement.
“Oregonians will be presented a clear choice this November between Chris Dudley’s fresh, innovative ideas for growing jobs and the economy and John Kitzhaber’s well-worn, rehashed approach that has failed in the past.
“While Dudley will reduce taxes on businesses to encourage economic expansion, Kitzhaber remains focused on implementing a sales tax – a stale idea that voters have consistently rejected time after time by wide margins. Oregon’s future will be on the ballot in November. That’s what Chris Dudley represents. John Kitzhaber represents the past.”
