RGA Statement on North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory’s Announcement That He Will Seek Re-Election

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Governors Association issued the following statement regarding North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory’s announcement that he will seek a second term:

“The Carolina Comeback is in full force thanks to Governor Pat McCrory’s strong leadership and proven track record,” said RGA Chair Governor Susana Martinez. “Governor McCrory has achieved real results for the people of his state, fostering pro-growth policies that have created over 230,000 jobs and consistently make North Carolina a top state for business. He did this all while providing $4.4 billion in tax relief to hardworking North Carolina taxpayers, delivering a $450 million budget surplus and making key investments in education, including the largest teacher pay raise in the country. The RGA is proud to support Governor McCrory for re-election and we are confident Tar Heel voters will continue this impressive record of success and elect Governor McCrory to a second term.”
