WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican Governors Association Communications Director Jon Thompson released the following statement regarding Democrat Governor Maggie Hassan’s decision not to seek re-election in New Hampshire and instead run for the U.S. Senate:
“After four years of gridlock and ineffective government under Governor Maggie Hassan, New Hampshire voters are craving leadership in Concord. Hassan’s decision to forego a re-election bid increases GOP chances of picking up the governorship and further puts Democrats on their heels nationally, creating the fifth open gubernatorial seat they must defend in 2016.”
