RGA Statement on Michigan Primary

Republican Rick Snyder to Face Democrat Virg Bernero

Michigan primary voters have selected Republican Rick Snyder to face Democrat Virg Bernero in November’s general election. Republican Governors Association spokesman Tim Murtaugh released the following statement:

“As Michigan continues to suffer through one of the worst state economies in the nation, the people are looking for fresh ideas and new leadership. Rick Snyder is best equipped to enforce conservative fiscal discipline and foster an environment that encourages the private sector to create new jobs.”

Michigan primary voters have selected Democrat Virg Bernero to run in November’s general election.  Republican Governors Association spokesman Tim Murtaugh released the following statement:

“Virg Bernero is an opportunistic politician.  He is also a true liberal’s liberal.  Bernero promises just more of the same, tired Granholm policies that led Michigan into this mess in the first place.  The voters will reject four more years of failed economic policies from Michigan Democrats.”
