Republican Governors Association Executive Director Phil Cox released the following statement on John Gregg’s decision to create a gubernatorial exploratory committee:
“John Gregg’s attempt to turn back the clock by exploring a run for governor is doomed to fail and signifies the weakness of the Democratic Party in Indiana. In nearly a decade since Gregg left office, cashed in and became a lobbyist, Indiana has made tremendous strides and now has one of the most fiscally-responsible state budgets in the country as well as the lowest property taxes in the nation. The RGA has no doubt that the voters of Indiana will elect another Republican governor in 2012.”
