RGA Statement on Governor Rick Snyder’s Re-Election Announcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican Governors Association Executive Director Phil Cox issued the following statement regarding Michigan Governor Rick Snyder’s announcement that he will seek re-election:

“Michigan is in the midst of a long-awaited turnaround thanks to Governor Rick Snyder’s principled leadership. In just one term in Lansing, Governor Snyder has eliminated a $1 billion budget deficit, cut taxes to aid business growth, and put more Michiganders back to work by fostering the creation of over 220,000 jobs. This proven track record of success stands in stark contrast to that of his opponent, one-term congressman Mark Schauer, who knows only the gridlock and inaction of the Washington model. With Governor Snyder at the helm, the Michigan Comeback will continue to move forward, and the Republican Governors Association proudly supports his re-election.”
