GOP Pair to Runoff, Winner to Face “King” Roy
Results of the Georgia Republican primary sent Karen Handel and Nathan Deal to a runoff election, the winner to face the Democratic nominee, former Governor Roy Barnes. Republican Governors Association Executive Director Nick Ayers issued the following statement:
“We are now confident Republicans will have a nominee who is a stark contrast to the policies of Roy Barnes and Barack Obama.
“Georgians suffered for four years under Roy Barnes’s arrogant abuse of power and now two years under Barack Obama’s. The people of Georgia aren’t about to move in that direction again.
“The conservative policies of either Karen Handel or Nathan Deal will move Georgia forward, reduce government and create jobs.”
