RGA Statement on Democrats’ Latest Redistricting Reset

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released the following statement regarding the announcement yesterday that President Obama is partnering with the Democratic Governors Association for redistricting fundraising after numerous ploys to gain attention or traction failed:

“After President Obama presided over a shellacking of Democrats at the state level, including the loss of 12 governorships, 30 state chambers and over 900 legislative seats, it’s comical that the DGA is now putting him in charge of their latest redistricting stunt,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “This latest reset comes after at least four failed attempts by the DGA, which included appointing Terry McAuliffe and Dan Malloy – two governors under federal investigation for illegal campaign fundraising – just this past July to lead fundraising efforts for redistricting. We look forward to the DGA promoting President Obama as a leader of their organization and a partner of Democrat gubernatorial candidates for many years to come.”
