RGA Statement On Democrat Gavin Newsom Advancing To California Gubernatorial General Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released the following statement regarding Democrat Gavin Newsom qualifying for the general election in California:

“At a time when California suffers from unaffordable taxes and anti-jobs policies that have led residents and businesses to flee the state, Gavin Newsom would only bring the same failed approach when the state desperately needs a change agent in the governorship,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “Instead of offering fresh solutions, Newsom is doubling down on big government, high taxes and economic stagnation that has plagued the state. Californians deserve a governor who will fix the state’s problems – not another career politician who spent his career creating the current mess.”
