WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA) today released the following statement from RGA Chairman Governor Pete Ricketts on the Louisiana gubernatorial primary election results:
“Over half of Louisiana voters went to the polls today and cast a ballot for someone other than John Bel Edwards. It is clear from tonight’s results that the voters of Louisiana are rejecting Governor Edwards’ liberal, tax-and-spend agenda, his broken promises, and his failed leadership.
“Eddie Rispone is a builder – he has spent his life building businesses, creating jobs, and giving back. His values are Louisiana values, and he’s the right candidate and will be the right governor to lead this great state forward to greater opportunity and prosperity.
“In the weeks ahead, Eddie will unite Republicans and all Louisianans who want to build a better future for their state around his principled, pro-growth, pro-values message, and the RGA will be with him all the way to victory on November 16th.”
