WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released a new television advertisement today in the North Carolina governor’s race, detailing career politician Roy Cooper’s mismanagement of the State Bureau of Investigation and how it’s yet another example of his failed record and weak leadership.

“Time and time again, career politician Roy Cooper’s failure to do his job has hurt the people of North Carolina,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “As Attorney General, Roy Cooper’s bungled management of the SBI resulted in hundreds of botched cases, individuals being wrongfully convicted, and criminals going unpunished. His leadership was so incompetent, the state removed the SBI from Cooper’s control. North Carolina families are now less safe because of career politician Roy Cooper’s weak leadership and failed record.”
