RGA Releases Latest TV Ad In Kentucky Governor’s Race, “Liberal Radicals”

WASHINGTON, DC – Putting Kentucky First, an organization supported by the Republican Governors Association (RGA), today added a new television spot to its ongoing ad campaign in the Kentucky governor’s race. Titled “Liberal Radicals,” the ad highlights Andy Beshear’s record of siding with the most liberal elements of the Democratic Party to attempt to derail President Donald Trump’s agenda.

While Beshear attempts to play up his Kentucky roots, the reality is that he has more in common with radical liberals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the issues than he does with the average Kentucky voter. Beshear has been endorsed by the radical progressive group Indivisible, which was founded to “defeat the Trump agenda,” demanded Congress “begin impeachment hearings,” and accused the federal government of funding “concentration camps.” Rather than denouncing these extreme positions, Beshear accepted campaign contributions from a fundraising event hosted by Indivisible’s Kentucky affiliate and even stated that he was “so excited” to receive the endorsement of the group’s 4^th congressional district chapter.

If the company he keeps isn’t enough evidence that Beshear is part of the radical resistance, his record as attorney general offers plenty of proof. Beshear, a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton in 2016, has filed suit against the Trump administration repeatedly. He joined with activist liberal attorneys general from across the country to try to stonewall the President’s agenda. Beshear has publicly said that as governor, he would make it his mission to “stop the negative policies of Donald Trump.”  

“Andy Beshear’s tired attempts to distance himself from the extreme elements of his party are laughable,” said RGA Communications Director Amelia Chassé Alcivar. “Beshear should drop the act – it’s clear from the company he keeps and his own rhetoric and record that he is a willing participant in the radical resistance, and would only double down if elected governor.”
