RGA Releases Derby-Themed Digital Ads in Kentucky Governor’s Race

Highlights “Race to the Left” Among Out-of-Touch Liberal Democratic Primary Candidates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA), through its affiliate organization Putting Kentucky First, today released a new digital ad campaign in the Kentucky governor’s race highlighting the out-of-touch, liberal policy agenda dominating the Democratic primary.

The ad, titled “Race to the Left” depicts candidates Andy Beshear, Adam Edelen, and Rocky Adkins as jockeys pushing their horses farther and farther leftward as they attempt to out-do each other with tax increases, Obamacare support, and other far-left policies, ending with the tagline, “If they win, Kentucky Loses.” The spot is running on Facebook, news websites across the state, and it will be geo-targeted to Derby attendees at Churchill Downs on Derby Day, Saturday, May 4, via Instagram and Snapchat.

You can watch “Race to the Left” at www.demderbyday.com.

“As Andy Beshear, Adam Edelen, and Rocky Adkins jockey for position in an increasingly radical, leftist Democratic Party, they’re racing further and further away from Kentucky voters,” said RGA Communications Director Amelia Chassé Alcivar. “Whichever candidate limps across the finish line in the primary, it’s clear that they will be pushing a liberal, big-government agenda that will put Kentucky on the wrong path. If they win, Kentucky loses.”

The Derby-themed ads are part of an ongoing digital ad campaign that includes creative highlighting Republican Governor Matt Bevin’s positive accomplishments as the Democratic candidates remain mired in an increasingly contentious and negative primary battle.
