RGA Raises $13.3 Million In Third Quarter of 2016

RGA Remains In Strong Position To Compete In Key States and Elect Republican Governors

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Governors Association announced today $13.3 million raised in the third quarter of 2016, increasing the fundraising total for the year to $43.4 million, and the total for the 2015-2016 cycle to $88.5 million, across all entities. These resources enable the RGA to make crucial investments in the final weeks of this year’s gubernatorial elections.

With 12 gubernatorial elections occurring on November 8, including in several multiple competitive Democratic-held states, the RGA has a strong opportunity to pick up seats this election cycle and drive further reform in the states.

“Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our Republican governors, the RGA is in an important position to add to our ranks this November, and continue that positive momentum into 2017 and 2018,” said RGA Chair Governor Susana Martinez. “Republican governors are implementing pro-growth policies, driving job creation, reforming education, and standing up to Washington’s failed policies and federal overreach. Donors across the country see our successful results as a firm investment in the nation’s future.”

“The RGA’s fundraising success is a testament to the reform and results Republican governors are accomplishing for their states,” said RGA Executive Director Paul Bennecke. “Despite the best efforts by Labor Unions, Extreme Environmentalists and Democrats obsessed with thwarting Republican governors, our financial position will allow the RGA to continue to invest in key races, re-elect our incumbents and grow the majority of Republican governorships this November.”
