WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA) released the following joint statement from RGA Chairman Texas Governor Greg Abbott, RGA Vice Chairman Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, and RGA Policy Chairman Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb as the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) enters into force on July 1, 2020:

“It is with great excitement that we join with leaders around our nation and the world to applaud the USMCA’s entry into force this week. The USMCA creates a forward-looking trading relationship for a 21st Century North America and offers American workers, farmers, and ranchers a seat at the table like never before. Implementation of this historic agreement marks a new era for economic prosperity in our states and our nation and fosters stronger partnerships with our neighbors for many years to come.

“The USMCA’s implementation brings with it a pivotal opportunity to drive productivity and prosperity in our states by balancing trade and creating freer markets at a time when it’s needed the most. We are grateful to the Trump Administration and the U.S. Congress for engaging with governors throughout this process to achieve lasting solutions that will boost economic growth and investment for our states and our nation.”
