Website Details Rory Reid’s Record as Poor Manager, Political Insider

“Rory Reid owes his father for every step he has taken on the road to running for governor.  He doesn’t like to use his last name these days, but those four letters – R-E-I-D – tell you everything you need to know about him.”

The Republican Governors Association today unveiled the website www.ReidTheFacts.com, a clearinghouse of information about Democratic candidate for governor of Nevada, Rory Reid.  The site contains details of Reid’s career in state politics, including his carefully choreographed pathway into politics and his record of mismanagement as a Clark County Commissioner.

“Rory Reid owes his father for every step he has taken on the road to running for governor,” said Tim Murtaugh, spokesman for the Republican Governors Association.  “He doesn’t like to use his last name these days, but those four letters – R-E-I-D – tell you everything you need to know about him.”

The website catalogues how Rory, scion of the powerful Reid political machine headed by his senator-father Harry, walked through a series of doors opened for him by political pressure and implications of repercussion against potential rivals.  The site also documents the younger Reid’s failures as a Clark County Commissioner, most notably in fiscal areas and the disastrous oversight of the University Medical Center.

“Rory has turned UMC into a very public debacle, and now as a reward he wants a promotion to the highest office in Nevada,” Murtaugh said.  “He’s already wreaked havoc on Clark County.  Unleashing him on the entire state would be a monumental mistake.”

The website also contains updated news content and videos, like the one released last week poking fun at Rory’s avoidance of his last name in campaign-related communications and literature.  That video was prominently featured on CNN’s John King, U.S.A.
