RGA Launches “Simply Stated” Video Series Touting Accomplishments Of GOP Governors

Today, the Republican Governor’s Association launched “Simply Stated,” a digital video campaign promoting GOP governors’ work to transform their states through pro-growth reforms and innovative policy solutions to improve the lives of working families.

The first video in the “Simply Stated” series highlights Governor Matt Bevin’s successful efforts to turn Kentucky into a manufacturing powerhouse, racking up win after win. As profiled in the video, Governor Bevin’s Kentucky recently landed one of the biggest economic development announcements in recent history, with Nucor Corp selecting Brandenburg, Ky. as the location for a new $1.3 billion steel mill, amid stiff competition from other states.

Kentucky’s success under Governor Bevin is no accident – it’s the result of his relentless focus on growing jobs and making the state more business-friendly. In 2017, Governor Bevin signed a Right To Work law, making it easier for businesses to operate. Since he’s taken office, Kentucky has attracted a record $17 billion in new corporate investment and 50,000 new jobs, while the unemployment rate has fallen to an all-time low.

The video also highlights Governor Bevin’s partnership with President Donald Trump, who called to congratulate the governor during the announcement with Nucor. Governor Bevin also partnered with the Trump administration to make workforce development a priority, creating KentuckyWorks Collaborative to bring businesses and state and federal agencies together to grow the state’s skilled workforce. In March, Governor Bevin joined Ivanka Trump and Toyota executives to sign the Pledge to the American Worker in Georgetown, Kentucky.

“Governor Bevin’s stunning success in turning Kentucky into a manufacturing and job-creating powerhouse is proof positive that Republican governors are leading the way when it comes to innovative policy solutions to improve their states and their citizens’ quality of life,” said RGA Communications Director Amelia Chassé Alcivar.
