RGA Launches John Bel Edwards Campaign “Store”

Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards appears to be hoping voters will forget his party affiliation as he faces a tough re-election fight in bright-red Louisiana. Edwards’ campaign launched an online store this week peddling merchandise with the words “Republicans for John Bel Edwards.” Reporters were quick to point out that there appeared to be some items missing from the offerings.

Luckily for the Edwards campaign, the RGA is here to help. Given his consistent support for big government, tax-and-spend policies that are hurting Louisiana job creators and workers, the RGA developed a new line of more appropriate campaign merchandise, available here.

“I Voted For John Bel Edwards And All I Got Were Lousy Tax Hikes” T-Shirt
Since taking office, Edwards has imposed over $1.1 billion in tax hikes. Wear your buyer’s remorse in style with this comfortable t-shirt. Bonus feature: every time you wash it, you have to pay an additional fee.

Hypocrites for John Bel Edwards T-Shirt
Hypocrites can be proud to throw their support behind John Bel Edwards. Remember those $1.1 billion in tax hikes? When Edwards first ran for governor in 2015 he claimed that “wouldn’t raise tax rates on businesses or individuals.” Sorry voters!

Trial Lawyers for John Bel Edwards Mug
Governor Edwards has heavily favored the trial lawyer lobby – which includes some of his campaign contributors – over Louisiana businesses, threatening both state and local lawsuits against oil and gas companies with an estimated cost of over $1 billion per year and more than 15,000 jobs.

Anti-Capitalists for John Bel Edwards Button
Wear your support for Edwards’ job-killing policies loud and proud! Since Edwards took office, Louisiana has been ranked first nationally for new business taxes, but dead last for where to find a job. That’s because his anti-business policies are driving job creators to look elsewhere, like across the border to Texas. LSU Economist Loren Scott called Edwards’ changes to the state’s industrial tax incentive program “ the best economic development move I have ever seen by any Louisiana governor—for the state of Texas.”

“Forced to Leave Louisiana” Moving Kit
Higher taxes and fewer jobs got you ready to leave the state like so many Louisianans since Edwards took office? Make your move in style with this exclusive kit.

The RGA hopes the Edwards campaign will consider these product suggestions to make their online store more welcoming for their customer base. Despite his liberal, tax-and-spend record, Edwards seems to think he can fool voters into forgetting his party identity. Unfortunately for Edwards, Louisianans have better memories than he gives them credit for, and no slogan on a t-shirt can change the fact that he has spent nearly four years taking their state backwards.

THIS STORE IS JUST A JOKE. But John Bel Edwards wasn’t joking when he promised he wouldn’t raise taxes, but then he did – The largest tax increase in Louisiana history. It’s no laughing matter that John Bel Edwards is hurting Louisiana.
