WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association launched its first television advertisement in the Michigan governor’s race today, highlighting how Democrat Gretchen Whitmer’s record of supporting tax hikes and job-killing policies has made her just like failed former Governor Jennifer Granholm.

“Michigan can’t afford to go back to the failed policies of Jennifer Granholm and Gretchen Whitmer,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “Whitmer helped pass Granholm’s tax increases – leading to 500,000 lost jobs and 15% unemployment – and now wants to raise taxes even more. Gretchen Whitmer is just like Granholm, and Michigan can’t afford to lose another decade on their watch.”
