RGA Congratulates Walt Havenstein on New Hampshire Gubernatorial Primary Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association issued the following statement on the outcome of the New Hampshire gubernatorial primary election:

“Walt Havenstein is prepared, ready to lead, and the best candidate to chart a new path for New Hampshire and its economy as governor,” said RGA Chairman Chris Christie. “Havenstein is committed to building a better future for the state; his experience as a businessman, a manager and a proven leader will allow him to do just that starting on day one. Because the Granite State could use a real reformer in Concord, the Republican Governors Association is proud to support Walt Havenstein to be New Hampshire’s next governor.”

“Despite New Hampshire’s stagnant economy, Governor Maggie Hassan has refused to make the state’s needs a priority,” said RGA Executive Director Phil Cox. “The people of New Hampshire deserve a governor who is committed to reform, growth and prosperity, not another term of Governor Hassan’s passive leadership, wasteful spending and mismanagement. While Hassan is spending New Hampshire towards an income tax, Walt Havenstein has what it takes to hit the brakes and put the state back on the right path.”
