RGA Congratulates Vermont Governor-Elect Phil Scott

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association issued the following statement on Governor-elect Phil Scott’s victory in Vermont:

“As a practical leader, successful businessman and dedicated public servant, Phil Scott is exactly the kind of governor Vermont needs, and his victory tonight proves that the people of Vermont are ready for a new direction,” RGA Chair Governor Susana Martinez. “Throughout his gubernatorial campaign, Phil resonated with voters, touting how he will use his experience to revitalize the economy and reform state government. With Phil Scott as governor, Vermont’s future is bright. The Republican Governors Association is proud to congratulate Governor-Elect Phil Scott on his victory.”

The RGA spent over $3 million on the effort to elect Phil Scott as governor, including a multi-million dollar TV ad campaign statewide, 2 statewide radio ads, 500,000 pieces of direct mail, and a targeted digital campaign which had over 5 million impressions. The RGA ran 13 TV ads highlighting Phil Scott’s record of success, and targeting Democrat Sue Minter as a political insider who would continue the failed policies of her mentor Governor Peter Shumlin.
