RGA Congratulates Governor-Elect Tate Reeves On Victory In Mississippi

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA) released the following statements congratulating Mississippi Governor-elect Tate Reeves on his victory in the gubernatorial election:

“Tate Reeves is an innovative, vibrant policy leader with an unparalleled understanding of the issues that are important to Mississippians and a bold agenda to move the state forward,” said RGA Chairman Governor Pete Ricketts. “Mississippi voters responded to Tate’s common sense proposals to invest in education and workforce development without raising taxes or growing government, and tonight’s results make it clear that the electorate trusts Tate Reeves to lead the Magnolia State into the future. Tate will be ready on day one to build on the accomplishments of his predecessor, Governor Phil Bryant. On behalf of the RGA and his fellow Republican governors, I congratulate Governor-elect Tate Reeves on this well-earned victory.”

“Tate Reeves ran a great campaign against the Democrats’ strongest possible recruit, and the RGA is proud to have helped secure his decisive victory,” said RGA Executive Director Dave Rexrode. “The RGA invested over $2.5 million in the race, both via direct support to Governor-elect Reeves’ campaign and independent expenditure efforts to expose Jim Hood’s liberal record, helping to ensure that Republicans maintained a financial advantage. We congratulate Governor-elect Reeves on a race well won, and look forward to welcoming him to the ranks of America’s great Republican governors.”
