RGA Announces Record-Breaking Fundraising Haul In 2021

Today, the Republican Governors Association announced the organization, across all entities, raised over $75 million in 2021 – smashing the previous record of $63 million raised in 2017 when 36 gubernatorial races were last in play.

The RGA also experienced significant growth in digital fundraising, including tripling its online donations, increasing the number of donors by 350%, and increasing total donations by 550% from 2020.

“All 28 of our Republican governors are focused on delivering results for the people of their states. They are taking on the big issues, making tough decisions, protecting lives and livelihoods, and getting the job done,” said RGA Co-Chair Doug Ducey. “The financial support the RGA has received is indicative of how motivated people are to put more Republicans in governor’s offices in 2022. The record-breaking haul last year will ensure our message and our strong conservative positions are delivered to voters in our 36 races.”

“Our increased support is proof that Americans are tired of the hypocrisy, record high cost of living increases, and soft on crime approach being seen from Democrat governors,” said RGA Executive Director Dave Rexrode. “Americans see a new way forward with Republican governors leading the way, and the RGA will have the resources necessary to advocate for our incumbent governors and challenger candidates who want to cut taxes, protect the rights of parents in their child’s education, and fight for the personal freedom of their states’ workers and families.”

Last year’s record-setting fundraising has already allowed the RGA to make major investments in 2022 battleground states, including TV investments in Michigan and Wisconsin, digital investments in Kansas, Michigan, and New Mexico, and supporting our incumbents seeking re-election in 2022.
