RGA Announces Jesse Hunt As New Communications Director

WASHINGTON, DC – The Republican Governors Association today announced Jesse Hunt will join the organization as its new Communications Director.

“We have the most effective team in the country at the Republican Governors Association and Jesse Hunt will make a tremendous addition to our organization as we prepare to expand our majority in 2021 and 2022,” said RGA Chairman Governor Doug Ducey. “Jesse’s immense talent as a communications professional will be a major benefit to every campaign on the map this cycle.”

Hunt comes to the RGA from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) where he served as Communications Director, overseeing the committee’s message and communications strategy for 35 U.S. Senate races during the 2020 election cycle. Under Hunt’s direction, the NRSC communications department helped campaigns navigate a challenging political environment where Senate Republicans successfully added and defended a total of 20 seats.

“Jesse has been on the front lines of some of the most intense political battles over the last several cycles and I’m glad we can add his experience and expertise to the team at the Republican Governors Association,” said RGA Executive Director Dave Rexrode. “We are committed to expanding the number of governors offices held by Republicans through smart strategic planning, and I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled to accomplish that mission.”

“The opportunity to assist so many solutions-oriented Republican governors is one I’m grateful for, and I look forward to working with the talented team at the Republican Governors Association to win races over the next two years,” said RGA Communications Director Jesse Hunt. “Leadership matters in elected officials and no one has done more to lift up their constituents than Republican governors across the country.”

In addition to his work at the NRSC, Hunt served as National Press Secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), a spokesman for Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign, and he’s a veteran of three U.S. Senate campaigns.
