RGA Ad: Small Businesses Can’t Trust Inslee

The Republican Governors Association began airing a new television ad outlining how Jay Inslee’s ideas would hurt small businesses and raise electric prices.

“Washington needs small businesses in all industries to succeed in order to grow jobs and drive down one of the nation’s highest state unemployment rates, but Jay Inslee voted to increase taxes on small businesses and supports policies that would dramatically increase their electricity costs,” said RGA communications director Mike Schrimpf. “Even more troubling, Washington voters learned this week that Inslee invested thousands of dollars in one of the few companies that could benefit from his national energy tax.”

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Jay Inslee invested at least $15,000 in a solar panel company called SunPower, one of the few companies in which Inslee owns stock.

“Jay Inslee puts his self-interest ahead of Washington state,” Schrimpf said. “Washington needs a governor they can trust.”
