RGA Ad: NH Gov. Lynch Has “Lost Touch”

Huge Deficit, Big Tax Increases, Jobs Lost – Still Seeks Unprecedented 4th Term

“During his three terms in office, Governor Lynch has raised more than 60 taxes and fees.  It is clear that he has just lost touch, because that is inexcusable in this tough economy.”

The Republican Governors Association today launched a new television ad in New Hampshire, highlighting Gov. John Lynch’s failed fiscal and economic record as he seeks an unprecedented fourth term in office.  The ad, titled “Lost Touch,” began airing this morning.

“During his three terms in office, Governor Lynch has raised more than 60 taxes and fees,” said Tim Murtaugh, spokesman for the Republican Governors Association.  “It is clear that he has just lost touch, because that is inexcusable in this tough economy.”

New Hampshire’s budget deficit was recently estimated at $220 million.  John Lynch’s answer to his Democratic legislature’s appetite for spending has been to place a burdensome income tax on tens of thousands of Granite State business owners and hike more than sixty other taxes and fees.  Meanwhile, New Hampshire has shed more than 50,000 jobs.

“While New Hampshire continues to suffer through this difficult economic time, John Lynch keeps throwing up obstacles on the path to recovery,” Murtaugh said.  “He has lost touch and surely does not deserve another unprecedented chance to make things worse.”
