Alex Sink eliminated thousands of Florida jobs as a banking executive even while she was taking millions of dollars in salary and bonuses, The Republican Governors Association highlighted today in its first television advertisement of the 2010 election cycle. The spot, titled “Fired,” began airing statewide in Florida this morning in what can safely be described as a significant commitment to the campaign by the RGA. The ad, running on both broadcast and cable television outlets, can be seen on its companion website, www.AlexSinksFlorida.com.
The ad and www.AlexSinksFlorida.com combine to paint a grim picture of Sink’s time as president of NationsBank’s Florida operations. Sink accepted more than $8 million in salary and bonuses but was also responsible for getting rid of thousands of Florida jobs.
“Alex Sink can’t erase the fact that she personally eliminated thousands of Florida jobs while she got rich,” said Nick Ayers, Executive Director of the Republican Governors Association. “When Alex Sink talks about economic issues, voters should remember her record – and it isn’t pretty.”
