Last week, Maryland Democrat candidate for governor Ben Jealous announced his support for a radical plan that could ban private insurance and create a state-run healthcare system, potentially leading to thousands of lost jobs.
Now, Jealous is admitting that his Bernie Sanders backed plan could force massive sales and income tax hikes on Maryland.
Delmarva Public Radio reports that Jealous “did not rule out hiking sales or income taxes.”
Ben Jealous has still yet to detail how much his plan will cost, and other Democratic candidates for governor, like Kevin Kamenetz, have refused to weigh in on the radical plan.
