Reminder: NM schools were bad b/f pandemic

With Mark Ronchetti introducing his plan to fix the state’s schools today and the release of the disastrous statewide test results of students last week, this is a reminder that Governor Lujan Grisham leads one of the worst ranked states for public education even before her pandemic lockdowns.

But don’t take my word for it. Hear it straight from the Executive Director of New Mexico Kids:

“We had problems prior to the pandemic. It’s not like New Mexico is achieving high levels of literacy and numeracy before the pandemic, and now suddenly the pandemic has shown some underlying issues. Candidly, we were already very low, so there’s not that much further to drop.” — Amanda Aragon

“Even before the pandemic, Michelle Lujan Grisham was incapable of fixing the state’s public education system,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “For the sake of students’ futures, there must be a change in leadership in Santa Fe, and Mark Ronchetti is the only candidate bringing fresh ideas to the table to fix the schools and get kids learning again.”
