With less than two months until Democrats pick their gubernatorial nominee in Virginia, gas pipeline issues are coming to the forefront of the race to the left between Ralph Northam and Tom Perriello. Northam has come under fire for refusing to take a stance on his support for the pipelines, in a direct attempt to mislead voters and straddle both sides of the issue. Just yesterday at a campaign event in Reston, Northam was asked for his stance on the pipelines’ construction and he refused to give an answer:
While incumbent Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe has called the pipelines a “huge job creator” and Tom Perriello has denounced the project, Ralph Northam is trying to skate by the issue without picking a side. Voters deserve to know where Ralph Northam stands on pipeline construction, but unfortunately, the failed lieutenant governor does not seem to think he owes them an answer.
