Radical Congresswoman Who Said Republicans “Can Go Straight To Hell” Rallies For John Bel Edwards

On the eve of early voting in Louisiana, Democrat John Bel Edwards’ reelection bid is receiving reinforcement from one of the most radical members of Congress, California Rep. Maxine Waters. Waters will stump for Edwards and Louisiana Democrats in Baton Rouge tonight in an effort to gin up support for their liberal tax-and-spend agenda.

Edwards, the architect of the largest tax hike in Louisiana history, and the pilot of one of the worst economies in America, has spent the last few months attempting to hoodwink voters into believing that he is a moderate. But when the chips are down and he’s facing a tough election, Edwards is once again embracing national Democrats like Waters and Stacey Abrams, whose secretive organization is actively working to reelect him.

Waters and Edwards are in lockstep on a number of policy issues: Waters supports a government takeover of healthcare; Edwards has already taken steps in this direction in Louisiana. Waters has pledged to rollback President Trump’s historic tax cuts, Edwards has raised taxes by $7 billion and recently admitted that Louisianans should not expect to receive any tax relief if he’s reelected.

Given their ideological similarities, Louisiana voters deserve to know if John Bel Edwards also shares Rep. Waters’ extreme views and approves of her hateful rhetoric.

Questions for John Bel Edwards:

  • Does John Bel Edwards condone public intimidation against people based on their political beliefs?

    • WATERS: “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

  • John Bel Edwards continued to back Hilary Clinton after she called over a million Louisianans “deplorable,” does he also think conservatives should “go straight to hell?”

    • WATERS: ‘This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned — the Tea Party can go straight to hell.”
  • Does John Bel Edwards stand with Maxine Waters in supporting the Green New Deal, which would kill thousands of jobs and devastate Louisiana’s oil and gas industry?

    • WATERS: Co-sponsored legislation to establish the Green New Deal.
  • Does John Bel Edwards think President Trump is a “dangerous and dishonorable man?”

    • WATERS: “As I have said time and time again, Donald Trump is a dangerous and dishonorable man.”
