Profiles In Hypocrisy: New Mexico Dem Gov Candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham Learns To Love Government Shutdowns

New Mexico Democrat gubernatorial candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham is once again proving that she puts partisanship before the well-being of her constituents.

During the 2013 government shutdown, Lujan Grisham attacked Republicans as “reckless” and “radical” for holding the country “hostage.” Noting that the shutdown “adversely affected New Mexico more than most other states,” Lujan Grisham told “heartbreaking stories” about how her constituents were “hurting.”

But now, Lujan Grisham has learned to love shutdowns, voting to close the government and rejecting a bipartisan compromise to reopen it.

Lujan Grisham’s hypocritical flip-flop is just another example of her hyper-partisan approach to governing. Only a few months ago, Lujan Grisham blocked Republican Hispanic lawmaker Carlos Curbelo from joining the Congressional Hispanic Caucus because of his political beliefs.

New Mexicans don’t want a governor who is more focused on playing the same old partisan Washington games than getting things done.
