With Republican Mike Dunleavy holding commanding leads in the Alaska governor’s race and Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball rating the race as “Likely Republican,” Governor Bill Walker’s already flailing re-election campaign appears to be collapsing.
Yesterday, Lieutenant Governor Byron Mallott “abruptly” resigned from his office and removed himself from the campaign.
This startling development comes only days after a new poll showed that Walker’s abysmal approval rating has only gotten worse with a resounding 54 percent of Alaskans disapproving of his leadership.
With less than three weeks until election day, it’s clear that Walker’s days in office are numbered and Alaskans are ready to move in a new direction after years of his failed Democrat policies.
