The Denver Post is reporting that Governor Jared Polis “decline[d] to say when he learned of allegations against Colorado’s emergency management director.” It was the first public comment Polis made on the issue since The Post‘s explosive report on the “multiple suspensions and aggressive, intimidating behavior from the man leading Colorado’s emergency responses.”
Which begs the question, did Governor Polis know about Mike Willis’ behavior and look the other way or is he so incompetent he had no idea the man leading the Office of Emergency Management was out of control?
“Colorado voters deserve to know if Jared Polis covered up Mike Willis’ egregious behavior or if he was merely too checked out to realize what was going on,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Not answering and continuing to sidestep legitimate questions about what he knew and why he didn’t take action is unacceptable.”
