Perriello Attacks Northam, Repeats Hypocritical Talking Points

Yesterday, failed former Congressman and Virginia Democrat candidate for governor Tom Perriello took to Reddit to push his hypocritical talking points and throw jabs at his rival Ralph Northam, further dividing Virginia Democrats. In his Q &A on Reddit, Perriello repeated one of his favorite talking points about big money in politics:

However Perriello conveniently forgot to mention that he accepted $500,000 from a single donor. He let that information slip in February, which the Richmond-Times Dispatch reported:

“[The] contribution accounts for nearly half of the $1.1 million that Perriello has collected since he declared his candidacy last month. Though fundraising reports are not due until mid-April, the former congressman let slip his total this past week…”

Perriello also took shots at his opponent, Ralph Northam, highlighting his two votes for President George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004:

Before his Q & A, POLITICO reported that Perriello was officially endorsed by 30 former Obama White House staffers, joining John Podesta, who backed Perriello last week. With Virginia’s Democrat establishment, including Governor Terry McAuliffe and Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, continuing to stand with Northam, this further splinters Virginia Democrats.

Instead of providing real solutions to the people of Virginia’s problems, Tom Perriello is too busy making attacks that divide his own party and misleading the public.
