Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett: Republican Governors Are Leading the Charge

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association today launched the next video of the American Comeback project, a national advertising effort designed to tell the success stories and accomplishments of Republican governors.

Governor Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania is featured in this week’s installment of the American Comeback project. Governor Corbett knows that good government isn’t about government at all, it’s about people, and he has dedicated his first term in Harrisburg to securing their futures by turning Pennsylvania around.

“Pennsylvania is going in the right direction,” said Governor Corbett. “We are positively moving forward. What we have done in balancing the budget – reducing our 4.2 billion dollar deficit when I took office without raising taxes – has allowed us to become much more attractive to businesses than we were before.”

“Washington and their decisions…they’re making us paddle upstream rather than trying to work with the individual states the way we need them to work with us to give us the flexibility,” Governor Corbett continued. “When we’re able to make those decisions, we’re setting the foundation for the state to grow.”

“The answers aren’t coming from Washington. They’re not there,” said Governor Corbett. “Frankly, it’s Republican governors who are driving America’s comeback.”

The American Comeback project will grow to include more videos focused on individual Republican governors, their personal journeys and the progress they’ve made toward bringing prosperity to their states.
