Who Paid for Whitmer’s Florida Vacation? She Won’t Say

Gretchen Whitmer continues to refuse to come clean to Michiganders about her tropical vacation to Florida, dodging questions about who paid for her flight, how long she was there, and why she lied to the media and Michiganders about her weekend getaway.

Now new revelations are surfacing about Whitmer’s trek to the Sunshine State. Deadline Detroit is reporting that Whitmer took a private jet owned by several Michigan businessmen on Friday, March 12, from Lansing to West Palm Beach, and flew back to Lansing on Monday, March 15. This is more than the “two full days” that Whitmer’s office claimed, and it matches up with Whitmer’s lack of public appearances in the Great Lakes State during that time period.

If Whitmer did in fact take this flight, she needs to explain to Michiganders who paid for the flight that could cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Whitmer may not have tried to just hide her citrus respite from Michiganders, her office appears to have even tried to hide it from Florida law enforcement too. According to this video clip, Whitmer’s office did not reach out to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement or West Palm Beach County, which would break standard protocol for gubernatorial travel.

“The more time goes on, the more questions Michiganders have for Gretchen Whitmer about her southern sabbatical to the Sunshine State,” said RGA Spokesperson Chris Gustafson “Dodging questions from Michiganders and ignoring media requests only raises more concerns that Whitmer has entangled herself in more cronyism and shady deals. Michiganders deserve answers now.”
