Overwhelming Majority of Maryland Voters Approve of Gov. Larry Hogan’s Job Performance

In deep-blue Maryland, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by a 2:1 margin, Republican Governor Larry Hogan continues to receive strong job approval ratings from a large majority of voters.

In the latest Washington Post-University of Maryland Poll, voters give Governor Hogan a 65% job approval rating, a feat not matched by the state’s three previous governors. Governor Hogan’s focus on reforming Maryland continues to get results.

The Washington Post reports:

“Hogan holds a 65 percent job approval rating…above the highest mark in Post polls for each of the state’s three previous governors.

Hogan’s popularity outpaces that of the Maryland legislature and both major parties in the state. Residents give him the highest marks for his handling of the economy, with 6 in 10 approving. His approach to taxes and education had about half of residents in favor and a third disapproving, while approval for his response to the state’s heroin and opioid crisis climbed 12 percentage points in the last year, to 47 percent.”
