Oregon Schools Receive Dismal Ranking As Ethics Questions Pile Up for Dem Gov Kate Brown

Oregon Democrat Governor Kate Brown is facing brutal headlines on multiple fronts this week as her administration faces renewed ethics concerns, as well as damaging education news.

First, Kate Brown’s administration was humiliated with dismal education news, with a new report again ranking Oregon schools at the “bottom of the barrel” nationwide, with the third worst graduation rate. This comes as Kate Brown’s been criticized for being in “denial” over the state’s pension crisis, which threatens future classroom funding.

Second, an audit by Oregon’s Secretary of State of Kate Brown’s troubled health agency revealed malicious and unethical attempts by Kate Brown’s administration to cover up hundreds of millions of dollars in healthcare misspending. The Daily Astorian editorial board slammed Kate Brown’s administration for going to “great lengths to stymie an audit of the Oregon Health Authority.”

Under Kate Brown, the Oregon Health Authority “aggressively interfered” with state auditors. Kate Brown’s agency reportedly “monitored what its staff was telling auditors, potentially creating a chilling effect, and ordered front-line workers to go through management instead of communicating with auditors.”

It’s yet another example of Kate Brown’s administration failing transparency standards she campaigned on.

Ethics concerns and an education crisis – Oregon deserves better than Kate Brown.
