Obama’s Broken Promises Will Be A “Game Changer” For John Gregg

When Obama visited Indiana seven years ago, he misled Hoosiers by announcing jobs that never actually came. His return visit to Elkhart today will remind Hoosier voters of these broken promises and why they rejected President Obama’s and Democrat gubernatorial candidate John Gregg’s liberal agenda in 2012.

Now, in 2016, John Gregg is yet again running for governor and aligning himself with President Obama’s failed policies. While Gregg usually flip flops on the issues that are most important to Indiana, his past support for President Obama’s liberal agenda has always been crystal clear. And we know that Gregg is more than ready for Obama’s third term by being a proud supporter of Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president and remaining silent when she vowed to “put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business” if elected.

Hoosiers could not take President Obama at his word seven years ago, so they certainly cannot count on John Gregg to follow through on those same broken promises.

BACKGROUND:

Obama’s Broken Promises To Indiana

President Obama Announced Jobs That Never Came. “They remember Obama’s August 2009 visit when he announced a $39.2 million federal grant for a company called Navistar that was supposed to create hundreds of jobs and build electric delivery trucks in Elkhart County. The jobs never arrived — from Navistar or other electric car-related companies that were touted at the time.” (James Briggs, “Elkhart Residents To Obama: Tell Us How You Helped,” Indianapolis Star,5/31/2016)

He Made False Promises. “‘He clearly promised (stuff) that couldn’t happen,’ Hicks said.” (James Briggs, “Elkhart Residents To Obama: Tell Us How You Helped,”Indianapolis Star, 5/31/2016)

President Obama Has Not Helped The Local Economy, Despite What He May Claim. “There’s no direct correlation to anything he’s done to help us,” he said. “We’re not excited about anything he’s done. There’s nothing he’s done to help this industry around here.” (James Briggs, “Elkhart Residents To Obama: Tell Us How You Helped,” Indianapolis Star, 5/31/2016)

He Praised Obamacare As A “Game Changer” For Healthcare And Supported The Legislation. “The challenge to it is that something does have to be done. We know that. Because it’s a game changer. That’s the challenge. The good news is it means that more Hoosiers are covered with health insurance…” (“WLFI Bonus Video: John Gregg,” YouTube, 7/3/2012)

John Gregg Defended The Obama Administration On Its Coal-Killing ‘Clean Power Plan.” “Gregg said the state needs to focus on clean coal technology…He said more discussion needs to occur as the state waits to see how the proposed rules evolve and the final product comes out – rather than talk of lawsuits.” (Chelsea Schneider, “EPA regulations entering 2015 governor race,” Evansville Courier & Press, 7/4/2015)

He Refused To Stand Up For Hoosiers When President Obama Was Blaming Them For Gun Violence In Chicago. “Recently, I asked John whether he agreed with President Obama’s assertion that Indiana’s lax gun laws are a major factor underlying violence in Chicago…Yet, John didn’t give a straight answer on that question either, telling me instead, ‘I support the Second Amendment.’ But is the president right about Indiana’s culpability in violence in his home city? Again, ‘I support the Second Amendment.’” (Tim Swarens, “Who Is The Real John Gregg?,”Indianapolis Star, 1/29/2016)

John Gregg Is A Proud Hillary Clinton Supporter. “Gregg served as Honorary Chairman in Indiana in Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign.” (Staff, “John Gregg Enters Race For Governor,” Tristate Homepage, 4/30/2015)
