NY Dem Gov Andrew Cuomo’s State-Run $15 Million Movie Studio “Turning Into A Disaster”

Wasting tax dollars has long been a hallmark of Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration. Now, one of his signature projects – opening a state-run movie studio in central New York – is being called a “disaster” and “a horror film with a nasty ending.”

In 2014, Cuomo announced that “Hollywood comes to Onondaga” and directed SUNY college to run a film studio outside Syracuse. The project cost taxpayers $15 million.

“The project was a flop from the start”, writes the New York Post.

Now, the state-run move studio that “has not been heavily used” since 2015 is mired in legal trouble for not paying its rent.

The New York Post explains, “The developer that built a state-run film-production facility with $15 million in taxpayers’ money is suing for nearly $1 million in unpaid rent, plus penalties.”

“…the seldom-used film facility is a symbol of government waste and should have been left on the cutting-room floor in the first place.”

This is the latest in a series of bungled, taxpayer funded waste from the Cuomo administration. Just last month, Cuomo was blasted for his “wacky scheme” to dump $10 million in taxpayer money into a comedy club in upstate New York – without saying how many jobs it would create.

New York taxpayers deserve better than Cuomo’s wasteful spending
