No border crisis?

It’s been nearly a week since the Wisconsin Assembly called on Governor Tony Evers to send National Guard troops to the southern border to help mitigate the worsening border crisis.

Evers has yet to address the Assembly’s request. Shortly after he was elected, he pulled Wisconsin National Guard personnel from the border, stating that there was no “crisis.”

This isn’t the first time Evers has thrown bipartisanship to the wind and refused to work with Republicans. Just last month: Tony Evers hasn’t met with Republican lawmakers to discuss $91 billion budget proposal

“Much like Joe Biden, Governor Evers is hoping the border crisis goes away on its own while he looks the other way,” said RGA Spokesperson Maddie Anderson. “While Evers did not hesitate to send Wisconsin National Guard troops to DC earlier this year, he continues his partisan pattern of refusing to work with Republicans by flat-out ignoring their request to send troops to the border. Either Governor Evers thinks there is no crisis at the border, or he simply doesn’t care. Wisconsinites need to know which it is.”
