New Study: Tom Wolf’s Plan Would Cost 54,000 Pennsylvania Jobs

Failed Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf continues to push even more job killing proposals in response to the state’s $3 billion dollar deficit. Pennsylvania’s nonpartisan independent Fiscal Office projects that Wolf’s recent minimum wage proposal would cost the state 54,000 jobs and raise only two fifths of the revenue he previously said it will.

Penn Live reports:

“…Wolf’s plan to raise the state’s minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $12 an hour would cost the state about 54,000 jobs and raise $60 million less than the Democratic administration says it will.

That’s according to the Independent Fiscal Office, which is supposed to serve as a nonpartisan counterpoint to the budget numbers that get batted around like a pinata every budget season.

During his annual budget address back in February, Wolf told a joint session of the state House and Senate that his wage plan would raise about $100 million in new revenue, while boosting the state’s economy, WITF-FM reported.

In fact, the number is probably closer to $40 million…”

Despite what Pennsylvania’s nonpartisan budget office warns, Tom Wolf seems completely content sacrificing vital Pennsylvania jobs to respond to his budget issues even though he pays 19 of his cabinet secretaries six digit salaries. Tom Wolf lacks the fiscal responsibility to lead Pennsylvania and his failures should not be rewarded with another term in 2018.
