Details Deval Patrick’s Record of Taxing & Spending

“Deval Patrick’s outrageous commandeering and frittering of taxpayer money is exactly why Bay Staters are fed up with Beacon Hill politicians.  Election Day is the day Massachusetts hires a new governor, and Deval Patrick has failed his four-year interview.”

The Republican Governors Association today launched a new website, www.ThePatrickReport.com, which details Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick’s record of increasing taxes to feed his spending habit.  The website supports the RGA television ad currently running.

“Deval Patrick’s outrageous commandeering and frittering of taxpayer money is exactly why Bay Staters are fed up with Beacon Hill politicians,”  said Republican Governors Association spokesman Tim Murtaugh.  “Election Day is the day Massachusetts hires a new governor, and Deval Patrick has failed his four-year interview.”

In addition to the television ad, the website contains information about Patrick’s tax and spend record, including his support of a variety of tax increases and the use of a luxury Cadillac at a cost to taxpayers of $1,200 per month.  It also cites his gift of pay increases to his staff to the tune of $1.1 million and the $27,000 he spent on extravagant décor for his offices.  The site also documents Patrick’s attempted hire of a state senator for a $175,000-a-year patronage job.

www.ThePatrickReport.com is also connected to a Facebook page and a Twitter feed.  The new website joins www.TheCahillReport.com in online efforts by the RGA in Massachusetts.  The Cahill website chronicles the disastrous record of long-time Democrat Tim Cahill, now running for governor as an independent.
