New RGA Ad: Cahill Made Problems Worse, Defends Patronage

3rd Ad Cites Budget Woes, Cronyism, “More of the Same”

“Voters are seeing through Tim Cahill’s desperate attempt to be something that he has never been.
He really is just another Beacon Hill insider, and his masquerade has nearly come to its end.”

– Tim Murtaugh, Republican Governors Association

The Republican Governors Association today launched a new television advertisement directly linking Tim Cahill with the growing fiscal problems in Massachusetts. The 15-second ad, titled “Patronage,” cites Cahill’s practice of hiring acquaintances and defending his cronies as proof of his contribution to the state’s budgetary woes. The ad also can be found online at www.TheCahillReport.com, along with two previous ads and other related information.

“Voters are seeing through Tim Cahill’s desperate attempt to be something that he has never been,” said Tim Murtaugh, spokesman for the Republican Governors Association. “He really is just another Beacon Hill insider, and his masquerade has nearly come to its end.”

In one passage, the ad uses Cahill’s own voice as proof of his indifference to an open and efficient government. In an April 27th appearance on WRKO, Cahill incredibly blurted, “I’m not passing myself off as a reformer or as a good government guy.”
